Nova Déli, 25 de setembro (SocialNews.XYZ) A Autoridade Nacional Antidoping (NADA) emitiu uma notificação por omissão de informação sobre o paradeiro da lutadora aposentada Vinesh Phogat, após enviar uma equipe para coletar uma amostra de urina da lutadora que perdeu uma medalha nos Jogos Olímpicos de Paris, pois foi desclassificada por estar 100 gramas acima do peso na manhã da final.
O aviso informou que um Oficial de Controle de Doping foi enviado à residência de Vinesh em Sonipat, em Haryana, em 9 de setembro, no horário especificado por ela, que ela estaria disponível lá. Mas Vinesh, que está disputando as eleições para a Assembleia de Haryana, não estava disponível em sua residência. Isso, disse a NADA, constitui uma falha de localização.
Vinesh, que fez história para a Índia ao se tornar a primeira lutadora a se classificar para a final da categoria feminina de 50 kg em Paris, foi solicitada a responder ao aviso em até 14 dias.
“Você está recebendo uma notificação formal para notificá-lo sobre a aparente falha em cumprir com os requisitos de paradeiro do ADR e para convidá-lo a fazer quaisquer comentários antes de tomarmos uma decisão final sobre o assunto. A ‘notificação formal’ informou Vinesh Phogat que ela não estava disponível em sua residência em Pratap Colony, Sonipat, às 12h20 do dia 9 de setembro, conforme atualizado no recente Registro de Paradeiro.
“Um Dope Control Officer (DCO) foi enviado para testar você naquele dia, naquele horário e local. No entanto, o DCO não conseguiu localizá-lo para testá-lo, pois você não estava disponível no local fornecido. [A copy of the DCO’s Unsuccessful Attempt Report is enclosed, providing details of the attempt,” the NADA notice said.
As per the World Anti-Doping Authority rules, active sportspersons are part of the Registered Testing Pool and therefore are required to give a specific time and location for specific days in a month when they would be available for testing if needed. Vinesh, who had qualified for the Paris Olympic Games, has been part of the Registered Testing Pool since March 2022 and was also informed by NADA in January this year about her inclusion in the list.
“Please respond to this letter within 14 days specifying if you accept that You have committed a whereabouts Failure or alternatively if you believe you have not committed a Whereabouts Failure’. In the latter case, Please explain, in as much detail as possible the reasons for your belief,” the NADA letter informed the wrestler.
Three whereabouts failures in 12 months are considered an Anti-doping Rule Violation and taken and get the same punishment as a positive dope test. In the case of Vinesh Phogat, the NADA letter specified, that it was her first whereabouts failure in 12 months.
Soon after her campaign in the Paris Olympic Games ended in heartbreak, Vinesh Phogat announced through a statement on social media her decision to retire from wrestling.
A few days after that she quit her job with Railways and joined the Indian National Congress party and has been nominated to contest elections from the JUlana constituency.
